Unfurled, an exhibition curated by Christopher E. Harrison
The exhibition was hosted by Artistry and took place in the Inez Greenberg Gallery at the Bloomington Center for the Arts. The emerging artists, mostly young, artists of color, worked in a variety of media, from oil, video, and fabric. Their work was fresh and very colorful. They artists included: Philipo Dyauli, a self-taught painter, illustrator, and draftsman from Tanzania; Roshan Ganu, a mixed media storyteller based in Minneapolis; Lissa Karpeh, a Liberian-American artist whose work is informed by her first-generation immigrant identity and background in mental health work; Alonzo Pantoja, a queer, brown artist and educator who earned his MFA in Fiber and Installation at Minneapolis College of Art and Design; and Suyao Tian, who lives and works in the twin cities as an artist, designer, and independent curator.
